Children Reading the Holy Bible

Children are a great blessing from the Lord and we aim to nurture them in developing into strong leaders in the church and their community. We aim to provide our children with sound Biblical foundation and expose them to strong biblical ethics and values and enable them to exhibit their God-given potentials.

To know Christ and to follow Him we believe are the two greatest goals in life. At Durham West, we are focused on helping people find these goals and make them a reality in their lives. Our goal is to provide Christ-centred and Bible-based teachings to assist in developing individuals in their relationship with God and we facilitate this through mid-week bible study and Sunday School for all ages.

Teen Prayer Group

We have a vibrant group of youth who love the Lord and continue to prepare themselves or a lifelong walk with Christ. It is our goal to help youth become aware of God as revealed in Jesus Christ, and to respond to Christ in a personal commitment of faith; to guide youth to adopt a lifestyle of Christine response to life situations and morality issues. We endeavour to help our youth understand and establish balance and priorities, and to build meaningful relationships with family, friends, and within their communities.

We help to  usher in and welcome the presence of God in the congregation.  Corporate praise and worship is  beautiful and a sweet fragrance to the Lord.  We love to sing and dance in the presence of the Lord!

"Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints."       Psalm 149:1

Happy Senior Couple

Recognizing the spiritual mothers and fathers of our church, we engage our Seniors and provide direction and support for the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual well-being of our Seniors. We work to maintain their dignity and self-respect while honouring their wisdom.

We take great pleasure in approaching the Lord in prayer.  We pray individually and corporately, and we encourage others to develop a relationship with the Lord through prayer. We believe that prayer is the conversation that keeps us connected to God and it allows us to see and hear His direction for our lives.  We make time to gather together once a month for the sole purpose of supporting each other, the church and the community through prayers, and we are excited to see God answer our prayers!

"Pray without ceasing."

1 Thessalonians 5:17

We support men in developing their role as leaders in the home, in the church, and the community through motivational seminars, retreats, and other purpose-drive events and programs. Positive and meaningful relationship are encouraged as we believe it helps to solidify the role that God intended for men to be in the chruch, the home and community.

We aim to help women move to a place of spiritual maturity as they develop a relationship with God and to help women recognize, and develop their gifts and abilities.

Not only do we see the singles' ministry as a social interaction group, but we see it as an active outreach group.  We are engaged in creating a culture that values singles  and growing an outwardly focused singles' group that has a passion for evangelism.

The Call for evangelism is clear.  We have a vision and a mission to fulfill the Great Commission in being instrumental in bringing the lost to Christ; teaching that there is hope and life in Christ Jesus!

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ

Ephesians 4:11-12
